Cosmoledo Atoll Fishing
Ultimate Saltwater Flats
Eco-Camp Resort
Cosmoledo Atoll, often hailed as the “GT Capital of the World,” is a remote and pristine fishery in the Seychelles region of the Indian Ocean. Encompassing a vast white-sand lagoon encircled by 18 untouched islands, Cosmoledo lies roughly 1,000 kilometers (639 miles) southwest of Mahé, the Seychelles’ main island. The atoll’s only accommodation is an eco-friendly, land-based resort on Wizard Island and the most remote lodge in the Seychelles. Due to its isolation and lack of an airstrip, guests reach this bucket-list destination via a scenic two-hour sail aboard a 36-foot vessel from nearby Astove Atoll.
2026 Rates: start at $18,790 per person for 7 nights / 6 days guided fishing.
Cosmoledo Atoll

Cosmoledo Atoll is a vast white-sand lagoon fringed by seven primary islands, expansive pancake flats, and two dominant channels that facilitate tidal flow. The atoll’s perimeter is lined with extensive wadeable flats, interspersed with coral heads and scattered islets—creating optimal structure for targeting a variety of species. These dynamic flats serve as prime feeding zones for giant trevally, bonefish, triggerfish, and milkfish, among others. The consistent tidal exchange, combined with minimal fishing pressure and ideal light conditions, makes Cosmoledo one of the most technically rewarding and visually engaging saltwater fly fisheries on the planet.
Cosmoledo Atoll Species

The Atoll's sizeable white sand flats, lagoon edges, and channels are ruled by the notorious giant trevally. Guests can expect good numbers of fish throughout the week, with an average catch stat of approximately 60 to 90 fish per week for the group. Giant trevally over 120 pounds have been caught on Cosmoledo.
Species: Fish the vast expanse of flats, lagoons, channels, and reefs for your desired species. Cosmoledo’s pristine ecosystem is also home to impressive numbers of bonefish, bluefin trevally, bohar snapper, milkfish, permit, triggerfish, and more. Sailfish, yellowfin tuna, barracuda, and wahoo can be teased to the surface with poppers.
Fishing is very tide-dependent, so the prevailing conditions will dictate which species to target.

The Elusive Bonefish
Cosmoledo has a healthy population of bonefish that frequent the flats, with fish in the 6 to 10-pound range, up to 12 lbs, and regular sightings of fish in the 8 to 10-pound range. Bonefish are constant on neap tides but much more difficult to find on spring tides due to the fluctuation of water.

Cosmoledo Eco-Camp
Cosmoledo Atoll is home to a sustainable, eco-friendly camp located on Wizard Island. Designed with minimal environmental impact in mind, the entire camp is modular and can be fully dismantled and removed, leaving no trace. This innovative setup allows anglers to experience world-class fishing in one of the planet’s most untouched marine ecosystems—while preserving the atoll’s pristine natural habitat for generations to come.
Eco Pods

The camp on Wizard Island features eight air-conditioned beach cottages, known as Eco-Pods, designed to blend seamlessly into the island’s remote landscape. Constructed from repurposed shipping containers and set on heavy precast slabs, the pods offer a low-impact, modular solution that supports the atoll’s conservation goals. Each pod includes a private outdoor shower, a shaded front porch with a sitting area, and 24-hour 240-volt electricity with British plug points—providing anglers with a comfortable, climate-controlled retreat after a day on the flats.
Central Dining Area

The central dining and entertainment tent has an exceptional dining area, a fully stocked bar, and bare sand floors.
Communications: The Camp’s communal area has complimentary satellite Wi-Fi and a satellite phone. Outgoing phone calls cost $4.00 per minute, and incoming calls cost $3.00 per minute.
The Large Central Dining Tent

Dining Tent: The communal dining tent, with its lounge area and bare sand floors, is the camp's gathering place.
Meals: The chef prepares a buffet-style breakfast each morning. Lunch is served at the Lodge between noon and 1:00 p.m. Enjoy Creole and international dishes, fresh fish daily, fruit, and vegetables from their garden.
Alcohol: Wine is served with dinner, and SeyBrew beer, champagne, and select spirits are included in the package. Cosmoledo is a “dry island,” so please do not offer alcohol to the local staff.
From Astove Atoll, you'll take a Ferry Ride to Wizard Island.

Weather: From December through April (the Lodge season), Cosmoledo Atoll offers hot, humid weather with midday highs near 90°F and generally calm seas—especially in April, the hottest and driest month. December sees more rainfall but still offers excellent fishing conditions. The Lodge season is prime for giant trevally (with reports of 200+ GTs landed in a week), along with bonefish, triggerfish, Indo-Pacific permit, milkfish, and bluewater species like wahoo, tuna, and sailfish. Spring tides and new/full moons bring especially strong action on the flats.
