Cosmoledo Atoll Fishing

Ultimate Saltwater Flats

Fly Fishing the Seychelles

Cosmoledo Atoll in the Seychelles region of the Indian Ocean comprises a large white sand lagoon surrounded by 18 islands. Cosmoledo Atoll lies 1,000 km (639 miles) from Mahe, Seychelles main island. The Atoll is considered the GT Capital of the World and features a land-based resort on Wizard Island. The Atoll is not reachable by aircraft, so a two-hour sail on a 36-foot boat is required from Astove Atoll.

Cosmoledo Atoll

Amidst the 18 islands forming the Cosmoledo Atoll, lies a white sand lagoon surrounded by wadeable pancake flats. This lagoon's two main channels teem with diverse marine species, and proves a playground for anglers.

Cosmoledo Atoll is a large white sand lagoon surrounded by seven major islands, numerous pancake flats, and two main channels. The perimeter of the atoll is covered with vast, wadeable sand flats dotted with islands of various shapes and sizes, all of which are the perfect habitat for its wide and varied fish population.

Angler with Giant Trevally

The Atoll's sizeable white sand flats, lagoon edges, and channels are ruled by the notorious giant trevally, so much so that it is often regarded as “the GT capital of the world.”
Species:  Fish the vast expanse of flats, lagoons, channels, and reefs for your desired species. Cosmoledo’s pristine ecosystem is also home to impressive numbers of bonefish, bluefin trevally, bohar snapper, milkfish, permit, triggerfish, and more. Sailfish, yellowfin tuna, barracuda, and wahoo can be teased to the surface with poppers. The fishing is very tide-dependent, so the prevailing conditions will dictate which species to focus on.
