Solitude River Trips received the Orvis Expedition of the Year award in 2006. Dry fly-fish for native cutthroat along with a few native rainbow and bull trout. Drift 106 miles of world-class whitewater through the spectacular and rugged country of the Middle Fork. This trip is early June thru Mid-September.
Cutthroat average 10 to 15” in length with
some in the 20” range. Catch and release only. Thanks to the
cutthroat’s cooperative nature, there are few better places to
introduce newcomers to fly-fishing than the Middle Fork. Two
anglers per driftboat and guide.
Licensed and experienced guides offer patient fly-casting
instruction for the novice while also providing helpful tips for
the more experienced angler.
There are many feeder creeks that offer excellent pocket water for fishing for cuts and native redside rainbows. They often camp at these creeks so anglers can get in more fishing before and after dinner and breakfast.
They host approximately 20-guests per trip, and a maximum of eight to ten anglers. In September, when the water’s lower, they only accommodate eight to ten guests. Delicious meals and helpful staff are waiting for you each evening with camp already set up. Orvis endorsed. Call for dates and details.
Includes: tent camping, meals, wine with dinner, ground transfers from Stanley to and from the river and U.S. Forest Service fees.
