Costa Rica - Silver King Lodge
Legendary tarpon fishing - Light Tackle
Best Tarpon Fishing Anywhere
This beautiful lodge is located on the banks of the Rio Colorado, which is Costa Rica’s largest river in terms of mass flow. Harry Gualco has fished this lodge for many years and can attest to its world renowned tarpon fishing. Large and numerous tarpon are caught both in the Caribbean and river itself.
The best tarpon months are March and April, and September thru October. Tuna and wahoo fishing is normally excellent with other species available. Fish the tropical rainforest streams and lagoons for the tackle-busting guapote, plus snook, mohara and machaca. Very experienced, English speaking guides. Fully equipped 23’ deep V-hull fiberglass boats, Yamaha 150 h.p. motors.
Silver King Lodge has spectacular views of the river and is located in Barra del Colorado Wildlife Refuge, a 400,000 acre reserve. The lodge has a Jacuzzi, swimming pool with eight foot waterfall and more. Buffet-style meals are deemed the best in Costa Rica. Air conditioned cottages with private bathrooms.
Canoe virgin rainforest rivers, view numerous species of monkeys and birds in the jungle, and pursue legendary tarpon.
