This is the big fish location. Many peacock bass
are landed here over 20-pounds and you start counting
if they are
10-pounds. After dinner, fish for an hour or two for big unusual
catfish.
Itapara Lodge is remote. It's a five hour fast
boat ride to the nearest habitation. You'll see an abundance
of birds
and wildlife here including jabiru storks, large macaws, parrots,
ibis, tapier, monkeys, freshwater porpoise, giant otters and manatees.
Includes: Roundtrip air Manaus to lodge,
airport reception, all internal transfers, lodging, meals, laundry
service, guided fishing and fishing license. Larry supplies all lures, flies and circle hooks on hosted trips.

The best technique for numbers of peacock bass is
fly-fishing. Because of the clear waters on its
many lagoons and lakes The
Agua Boa Amazon (formerly Royal Amazon Lodge) is ideal for fly anglers. The
guides paddle the boats instead of using electric motors while fly-fishing. Sightcasting to large peacocks
is exciting. 20-plus pounders are available;15-plus are usually
landed daily. Fly anglers will often land over 100 peacocks per day.
The lodge is remote, 240-miles north of Manaus. It is
100 river miles to any habitation. Exotic animals
and birds are seen
daily. The best water conditions here are from November first through late
February. The
air conditioned lodge, has five bedrooms and five bathrooms
with showers, satellite TV, hearty
meals, swimming pool and free laundry
service. A plane is at the lodge when guests are present in case of
any
medical emergency. The lodge owner and manager speak English.
Includes: Roundtrip air Manaus to Lodge,
airport reception, all internal transfers, lodging, meals and
free laundry
service at the lodge, guided fishing and fishing license. Larry supplies
all flies on hosted trips. Fly samples are sent if
requested to hosted or non-hosted clients.
