The Isoró wetland area is a natural sanctuary of 3,500,000 acres, a paradise for dorado fishing, bird watching and hunting. Several different locations are fished - the Parana tributaries, the Esteros Ibera’ and the Rio Corrientes. An incredible fishery for dorado, dog fish and giant piranha is only a short boat ride from the lodge.
Dorado are considered one of the best fighting freshwater fish on the planet. They’re aggressive, with a ferocious strike, long, hard runs, high jumps and fighting stamina. The locals call them River Tigers. Anglers average 15 to 20 strikes per day, and you should land about ten. Fly-fishing or lures and catch and release only. Fishing season runs from October to April with peak fishing March, October and November. Aluminum riverboats with 40 h.p. Yamaha motors. Two anglers per guide.
The lodge sits right in front of islands and streams of the vast marshland formed by the Parana and Isoro rivers, and is less than 200 yards from where you board your skiff. Thousands of birds are in the area, plus some caiman. Dorado Cua features spacious bedrooms with large, private baths, local and international cuisine, very good Argentine wines and four foot deep swimming pool. For (two) non-fishing guests a boat and guide is included for wildlife viewing. They offer bird hunting and fishing combo trips.
Includes: airport reception, day-use of hotel upon arrival in Argentina, round-trip sleeper bus from Buenos Aires to Mercedes, all ground transfers in Argentina, lodging, meals with beer and wine, guided fishing, license, and taxes.
