Flyfishing is the best technique for large numbers of peacock bass.
Due to the clarity of the waters of its
many lagoons and lakes the
Agua Boa Amazon is ideal for fly anglers. While flyfishing, the
guides paddle the boats instead of using electric motors. Sightcasting to large peacocks
is exciting. 20-plus pounders are available; peacocks in the 15-pound
range are usually
landed daily. Fly anglers will often land over 100 peacocks per day.
The lodge is remote, 240-miles north of Manaus. It is
100-river miles to any habitation. Exotic animals
and birds are seen
daily. The best water conditions are from November first through late
February. The
air conditioned lodge, has five bedrooms and five bathrooms
with showers, satellite TV, hearty
meals, swimming pool and free laundry
service. In case of any medical emergency - a plane is at the lodge when guests are present. The lodge owner and manager speak English.
