Baby Tarpon Fishing - Campeche, Mexico

2012 Hosted Week:  $2,490.00
   June 10-16 with Brad Staples

Located on the Western Yucatan, looking toward the Gulf of Mexico sits the town of Campeche. This region features more that 80 miles of mangrove coast, hundreds of creeks, and numerous channels, making the region Mexico’s most prolific baby tarpon fishery.

The brackish waters of the Mayan Peninsula are perfect for baby and juvenile tarpon in the five to 30-pound range, plus snappers, jacks, barracuda and some snook. Mexican panga boats are fully equipped with casting decks, 60 and 75 horsepower Yamaha motors and stocked coolers. Native guides read the water and pole the boats.
